I love the Owens Corning Fiberglass Corvettes. You don't normally think of C3 Corvettes racing, but they did a pretty good job of it. Oh, and GT40s aren't bad either.

C3s get no love in stock form. But that is to our advantage because it keeps the cost low. You can make them a really good fast car for not a lot of money.

I haven't driven one, but as I understand it, The C3's really weren't bad at all until they started gaining weight and losing horsepower after '73 or so.

I'm under the same impression, though I'm sure the later C3s can be made to perform with a little effort. I mean, how hard is it to make power with a small block Chevy?

Not at all, when you're not dealing with late-70s emissions tech. The cars started out at ~3250 lbs, and topped out at ~3600 lbs.
